Diminished [aka Ben Clark] resides in Adelaide, Australia. He is a synth enthusiast, music producer, and co-founder of Sounds Out of Hours; a site dedicated to helping other independent musicians release music.

About Cinematic
At the core Diminished is about synthesizer music. Cinematic is one realization of that. The stripped back synth-scapes are reminiscent of 1970's analogue synth pioneers such as Jean Michel Jarre and Tangerine Dream; however that's not the only thing going on here.
The beats are tough and sparse, and there is an underlining angst just waiting to be unleashed. The beauty of Cinematic is that restrain keeps this angst below the surface - creating something that is intriguing rather than blatant. Cinematic therefore becomes an emotional and introspective journey, with angsty, broken chord progressions and experimental sounds caressing the forefront of sparse, driving beats.
The EP is not all about angst though. Another important theme is hope. The sense of nostalgic sadness is hopefully accompanied by beautiful memories, and a sense of better things to come.
